Yarrunga Field Special Reserve Rosé 2017
New South Wales
Loading...

Sam Trimboli’s first Yarrunga Field was the white, back in the early 1990s. This rosé was not launched until 2014 and proved such a success we wish we’d thought of it sooner. A pink that is both refreshing and full of delicious fruity flavour.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
One of our top winemakers Down Under, of 20 years’ standing, is Sam Trimboli. He’s worked at a number of top estates and is now collaborating with another favourite winemaker of ours, Bill Calabria. What a terrific combination! Sam crafted this robust rosé mainly from Shiraz grapes grown on Bill’s estate in NSW and by some of his mates just down the track. A gentle crushing and quick separation of juice from the skins leads to a deep pink hue, as you might expect from punchy Shiraz. In flavour you get that unmistakable blackberry fruit with just a hint of fresh pepper but none of the tannins you’d find in full-on red versions. That makes it ideal with salmon or seared tuna. In the barbecue season, it’s perfect with char-grilled chicken.
