Winemaker Duncan Savage today has achieved a cult following – firstly during his 14 years at the SA's 5-Star Cape Point winery and now, having branched out on his own. He crafts his wines on Swartland’s western coastline. It’s a perfect spot for his other passion, surfing, but, most importantly, the cooling influence of the Atlantic here helps make this region ideal for outstanding quality wines. Then, of course, it’s down to the talent of the winemaker and with Duncan Savage, there’s plenty of that. Tim Atkin MW wrote in Decanter, “Duncan Savage thinks he hasn’t hit his full potential yet.
