The Story Behind the Bottle
Cleanskins are an Aussie peculiarity that allow top wineries to sell great parcels of wine with minimal labelling (hence the name cleanskin) and us to secure you great deals. Our Buyer leapt at the chance of reserving this premium Merlot. The grapes are all taken from vineyards in South Australia’s Limestone Coast, which encompasses some of the finest wine areas Down Under. Cooled by ocean breezes and planted on fine red soils, these areas lend real finesse and depth to the wine, along with a lovely cherry bite that keeps this red’s smoothness long and lingering. ‘Plummy’ is a classic descriptor for Merlot, along with blackcurrant, damson and cherry – they’re all here in this red. Enjoy with homemade burgers, grilled lamb or chicken pilaf.
