The name says it all, a meritorious cuvée! Talented winemaker Vianney Castan takes special care over his wines, bottling them individually rather than blending in a big vat. Judge its merit for yourself – gooseberry, lemony and herbaceous. Fresh!

The Story Behind the Bottle
Vianney Castan is a third generation winemaker, who works both with small domaines and also has two prized properties of his own, all in the Languedoc. His grandfather was the first in the family to take up the trade, winning a Gold medal in 1927. Vianney keeps up the family tradition. For this classic Sauvignon he picked out two parcels of grapes – one from warmer, sunnier slopes to deliver full, ripe tropical fruit notes, the other from a cooler, higher site and soils that would deliver that citrus minerality. Méritoire is the deliciously crisp result – a wine of distinction in our book. And also great value. So get that bottle chilled in the fridge and enjoy as an apéritif, or with grilled white fish, Vietnamese noodles or risotto.
