Despite being among the world's top 20 producers by volume, and with a climate most growers would be envious of, Sicily’s quality wines go largely under the radar. Innovative and talented winemaker Scipione Giuliani is doing his best to change that with appealing wines like this. It’s a juicy, modern white made from native Catarratto from the island’s west coast, along with a dash of peachy Chardonnay, Zibibbo and Grillo, all cool fermented and briefly matured on lees for a little extra roundness and weight. A lively and tasty appetiser, this midweight white is best served with lighter dishes. Chill down and enjoy a glass as a refreshing aperitivo or with grilled white fish, a broccoli and quinoa salad, chicken risotto or creamy pasta.
