Ultra Pale 2021
Vin de France

A new-release almost-pink, inspired by the most expensive rosé on the planet! That's Gérard Bertrand's; but Ultra Pale is sensibly priced! It's name says it all – almost imperceptibly rose-hued, it's super elegant and delicately berry flavoured.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Southern French winemaker Hervé Sabardeil likes a challenge! He and our buyer, Mark, were tasting Gérard Bertrand's amazing Blanc Taché – an ultra pale, ageworthy rosé called Clos du Temple that sells for over £160 a bottle. They came up with a plan to make a very similar style, but at a much more sensible price. So the project began - first to find a parcel of grapes that would stand up to the test. Those were a batch of pristine Pinot Gris from, of all places, the Languedoc and grown by the enviably talented Jesús Aledo, a Spaniard, who's put roots down in France. The rest was down to Hervé's talent. With a very pale hint of pink on its skins, this grape's ideal for the wine. Great freshness, delicate flavour, supreme! And will improve!

Our version of Ultra Pale, almost impercetibly pink – so tight and fresh it'll get better with age!
