On Italy’s east coast, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo provides what many consider to be Italy’s softest, most rounded and plummy reds. It’s a staple partner for pizza and pasta. Down Under, hardly anyone grows it but Bill Calabria is one of them and boy does he do it well. The Little Italian is lusciously smooth and fruity with spiced cherry and plum flavours. The Calabria estate was established in 1945 by Bill’s parents shortly after they arrived from Italy.
