The Story Behind the Bottle
England can lay claim to being among the earliest pioneers of sparkling wine. Furthermore, the soil and climate found on the South Downs region bear a striking resemblance to those of Champagne. This resemblance is so remarkable that several renowned Champagne houses have chosen to invest in England, with one even attempting to acquire the very estate in question. But the Roberts family is holding firm. As the leaders of English fizz they have won countless awards, including the IWSC’s World Wide Trophy for Best Sparkling Wine. No wonder Jancis Robinson calls this “England’s vinous glory – fizz made in the image of Champagne”. With delicate red berry fruit and toasty hints, this rosé is a joy solo or with canapés or summer berry fruits.
