With over 170 years’ experience, Von Buhl is one of Germany’s finest estates, and attracts high praise from critics every year. Their Riesling Nr 1 stands out with zesty lime, ripe peach and mineral freshness. A terrific, elegant dry white.

The Wine
Founded in 1849, the Reichsrat Von Buhl estate has always stood out for quality – both for still wines and today for a fine fizz too. In 1869, at the official opening of the Suez Canal, it was a Von Buhl Riesling that was chosen for the toast. Plus, every vintage today they score top points for their wines from publications such as Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate. That should perhaps be of no surprise, as they own some of the finest vineyards in the Mittelhardt of the Pfalz region and still use their original 170-year-old cellars for fermenting the wine. Riesling Nr 1 is bright with pure fruit and a delightful echo of lime and pear. This dry white is appetising on its own or with gentle dishes such as salmon, chicken, even Thai curry.
