The Wine
RedHeads has been blazing a trail since 2002, first in the McLaren Vale, now in the Barossa. They like to show the Big Boys of these smart regions that they're a winemaking force to be reckoned with. At their new, purpose-built eco-winery (they are 97% solar-powered and almost self-sufficient in water), they inherited a building with a charming rusty roof. A true RedHead. They name their one-off, small batch wines after it. These parcels of grapes come from exceptional grower-mates – they've developed a great network of them throughout the best regions. 'Liberating these grapes from the anonymous big blends, they make amazing wines. Hence Rusty Roof Riesling – zesty, lime-fresh and crisp. Tip top solo; tasty with spicy Thai cuisine.
