As Rose Murray Brown MW says, “some of the best Champagnes are from growers whose names are barely known”. Well here’s one whose name will be in lights soon, judging by the quality of its superb, dry fizz. Fresh, citrusy with toasty brioche richness.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
The Lamiraux family have been growing grapes in the village of Venteuil since 1907 and make all their Champagne from their own vineyards (not normally the case in Champagne). Most of the small growers in Champagne sell their grapes to the big names but an increasing number are producing their own wines like the Lamiraux family. These are known as ‘Grower Champagnes’ and are extremely popular in the French market. That means most never reach our shores so we’re lucky to get our hands on this one, especially as it was recommended in France’s wine ‘bible’, Le Guide Hachette des Vins. It’s a classic blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Fresh, citrusy and elegant with a hint of buttery brioche and fine, creamy bubbles.
