Primera Luz Sauvignon Blanc 2019

For a super fresh, citrusy white with New World style tropical fruit, yet with the elegance of the Loire, look to Chile. This long thin country has ideal conditions for vines and crisp whites. Never that far from the coast, with snowmelt from the Andes to the east, plentiful pure sunshine and a great variety of soils and slopes, it seems to have it all. Its vineyards even remained free of Phylloxera – the root munching beetle that destroyed nearly all Europe's vineyards in the late 19th century. History aside, this is a refreshing white, with bundles of crisp lime, passion fruit and a mineral edge. Just the glassful to partner all sorts of seafood - from grilled white fish to spicy crab cakes - or creamy pasta. Serve well chilled.
