Loubissou Organic 2023
Languedoc Cabrières AOP
Cabrières is a tiny cru appellation of the Languedoc. There the famous Gérard Bertrand sources grapes for his £165 rosé. From the same region, Loubissou is a blend of local red and white varieties, creating a superb, mineral-edged, berry-laced pink.

The Wine
Tucked away in the Languedoc is the forgotten 'cru' of Cabrières. It's where Gérard Bertrand (Drinks Business Master Winemaker of the World) sources fruit for his £165-a-bottle pink. In the village, there's a small cooperative which was named France's 'Winery of the Year 2023', beating all the grand names of Bordeaux and Burgundy even! It has just 10 members, one of whom owned the organic Loubissou vineyard, with its prized ancient schist soil. This grower retired last year and, thanks to the enthusiasm of customers, we’ve been able to buy the vineyard and lease it to a young couple, who tend vines next door. This meant the plot was saved from being lost forever. A fine, complex, mineral-fresh pink. Clear bottles are best kept in the dark.
"Delicate fruit, lovely intensity, textured with a bright core of mineral freshness. Ravishing rosé"
