Carmenère is Chile’s gift to the wine world and this gorgeously rich and smooth Single Vineyard is a sublime example. It’s from one of Chile’s oldest estates, Viña La Rosa, and reveals luscious wild berry flavours with a layer of smoky spice.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Chile is renowned the world over for Bordeaux style reds that offer both outstanding quality and value. The ever expanding list of those deemed ‘Extraordinary’ (96 points and above) by Robert Parker contains several Carmenères. The Bordeaux variety (now rare in its homeland) ripens beautifully in Chilean sunshine and this luscious, single vineyard red delivers ripe black fruit and complexity too. It’s from Viña La Rosa, an estate founded back in 1824, when it was fashionable for young Chileans to visit France. Many returned with vine cuttings from Bordeaux. Now in the hands of the sixth generation, the cellar is one of Chile’s oldest. Full flavours of cassis and dark chocolate with hints of spice – this will sing with roast duck or lamb.
