The Wine
We were one of the first UK wine merchants to trek across the Andes to Chile, way back in the 1980s. We've been revisiting ever since thanks to gorgeous, fruity, mouthfilling reds like this. 85% Merlot, with an extra glug of Chile's hearty, spicy, super smooth hero grape, Carmenère, it boasts juicy black berry fruit by the bushel. It’s from a family winery that’s been in the heart of the valley since 1950, winning awards galore along the way. Their shiny new wine cellar is watched over by Carlos Torres Silva and uses only stainless steel to lock in the fresh fruit flavours of this Merlot. Enjoy it in your largest glass over a long afternoon, or with best butcher’s sausages as the sun goes down.
