La Vieja Bodega Gran Reserva Campo de Borja 2001

The La Vieja Bodega vineyards were planted in 1958 in the foothills of the Moncayo Mountain, into which our La Vieja Bodega ageing cellar was carved around 500 years ago. The area benefits from long, hot summers and fiercely cold and dry winters, characterised by the region’s bitter cierzo wind; testing conditions in which the native grapes of D.O. Campo de Borja, and its Garnacha in particular, have evolved to flourish over the centuries. After almost 20 years in La Vieja Bodega, the wine shows a beautifully mellow and silken feel on the palate, with the perfect balance of ripe dark forest fruits, pepperiness and hints of vanilla, toast and spice on the nose.
