Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s finest producers and Puligny Montrachet is one of their greatest wines. A superbly poised, complex, Premier Cru from a vintage built to age. Wine Advocate called it “really superb. Puts Meursault Perrières into a hat”.

The Wine
Wine Advocate’s Neal Martin was full of praise for this third generation family producer when he tasted through the vintage. He described this particular wine as “absolutely stunning” and wrote “Drouhin continues to demonstrate what a class act they have become.” Maison Drouhin was founded 130 years ago and is now run by the four grandchildren of the original owner. Their magnificent portfolio extends from Chablis in the north to the Mâconnais. They are firm believers in organic and biodynamic viticulture, part of their philosophy of meticulous attention to detail throughout their range. This is a 93–95 point 2014, still tightly reined in, but with depth, ripeness and poise. Let it breathe for at least an hour or, ideally, cellar longer.

Hint of butterscotch and almond. Really superb Puligny from Drouhin, with a killer saline aftertaste
