The Wine
Jim Barry is a legend of Australian wine, regularly awarded 5 red stars by Halliday and Australian Winery of the Year in 2020. That’s just one of a huge line up of prizes the cellar has won since their foundation in 1959. The original Jim Barry passed his oenology degree in 1947, just the 17th person to do so at the famous Roseworthy College. He bought his first vineyard in 1959 and was key in Clare Valley gaining its premium reputation, the finest wine of which is The Armagh – their top Shiraz. Jim Barry is today run by the 3rd generation, Tom and Sam. This single vineyard Clare Valley red has real depth and richness, lifted by a delicious freshness to give the wine a perfect balance. Superb with roast meats or a rich beef casserole.
