The Wine
Jim Barry is the James Halliday Australian Winery of the Year 2020. Just one of a huge line up of prizes this cellar has won. The original Jim Barry passed his oenology degree in 1947, just the 17th person to do so at the famous Roseworthy College, and bought his first vineyard in 1959. It was his drive and community spirit that made Clare Valley the premium wine region it is today. Jim Barry is now run by the second and third generations. They have some of the finest plots in the Valley, including the 99-point Armagh, Florita and Lodge Hill vineyards. This fine red is a nod to the great wines Jim was making 50+ years ago, often blending Cab with Malbec. Aged in French oak, its deep fruit and supple tannins make it superb now or for ageing.
