Kevin Judd first helped to make New Zealand’s iconic Cloudy Bay famous with his great winemaking skills. Then he decided to start a venture on his own and Greywacke was born. This is his dazzling, mineral-fresh, zesty-lime Sauvignon. Outstanding.

The Wine
Greywacke was founded in 2009 by Kevin Judd – a pioneer of New Zealand’s wine industry. He named it after the soil of his first vineyard, which was littered with the local greywacke stones. Kevin works with independent growers with mature vineyards to obtain the highest quality fruit each year, then leases a small part of his friends’ Dog Point winery to craft the wines. His focus is Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, as you’d expect of Marlborough, plus a little Chardonnay. For this vibrant white, Kevin went to the prized Wairau and Awatere Valleys to search out fruit. Vinifying the grapes batch by batch, he left the wine to age on its lees for added richness. Peach and passionfruit with lemon zing, this wine is a stunner. Ideal with creamy dishes.
