Brisk, modern, crisp fruit in a delightful, dry German white from a cellar that’s been renowned for high class whites since 1796. Meticulously run today by the seventh generation, this family estate is on top form with this refreshing Müller Thurgau.

The Wine
In the fervour to embrace the piercing, lime fresh flavours of Germany’s modern Riesling, the delights of the Müller Thurgau grape have been nearly forgotten. For a glass of white with all the charm of a sunny spring day, try Frühlingsbote. It’s from one of the finest family estates in the Pfalz, dating back to the 18th century. In the village of Hambach, today it is run by the seventh generation of the Naegele Bonnet family. They have a very fine reputation for Riesling, as well as the other traditional varieties – red and white – of this warm, southerly region. With a modest 12.5 degrees and bright, crisp flavours, this white is ideal served chilled on its own. Try, too, with asparagus and lighter hors d’oeuvres or pan-fried white fish.
