The Wine
Roger Luquet founded his family estate in the 19th century. Today it encompasses 26 hectares of vines throughout the Mâconnais, particularly in Pouilly Fuissé and Saint Véran. Grapes for this supreme cuvée came from vines that are on average 50 years old. This means they produce fewer grapes than they once did but of higher quality and concentration. Harvesting is done by hand in the traditional way, and the wine is vinified in stainless steel to preserve the fruit of the grape and the characteristic of each vintage. From the excellent 2015 harvest, this white is generous and rich with aromas of hazelnuts and toasted almonds and a little exotic fruit. A top wine with shellfish, sauced fish, local speciality quenelles or vegetable terrine.
