Domaine Métairie Blanche 2020
Corbières-Boutenac AOC
Loading...
Top wines from the standout Corbières cru of Boutenac easily fetch £50 a bottle. That makes Metairie Blanche a bit of a steal. It's from a small, family estate with very old vines, ensuring real weight and depth to this lush, ripe, herb-scented red.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Only since 2005 has the renowned Boutenac cru of Corbières existed. But within that time, the price of its wines have rocketed thanks to the pulling power of legend winemaker Gérard Bertrand. All the grapes are estate grown, from very old, low-yielding vines – mostly Carignan, with a little Grenache and Syrah. Half of the wine is made by the special whole grape fermentation method, which lends a lovely silky, gulpable fruit style, while the other half is made more traditionally. Ageing in new oak is a clear indication of the seriousness of the wine.
