Domaine Faiveley Mercurey La Framboisière 2016
Mercurey AOC
Loading...
Strawberries and raspberries abound in this Mercurey from the aptly named 11-hectare Monopole – a single vineyard owned by one proprietor. A fifth of the grapes were fermented as whole bunches, which has brought out an ample, fleshy fruitiness.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
Pierre Faiveley founded his domaine in 1825 and it is run today by his great great great grandson. The family have always placed a lot of importance on the guaranteed quality of their grapes, so have accumulated substantial vineyards holdings. Today, with over 120 hectares, they have one of the largest domaines in Burgundy. The Framboisière vineyard produces wines with real character and ‘La Framboisière’ is one of their most highly reputed wines. For tip-top freshness and quality, grapes are pressed and vinified on site in Mercurey. Then the wine is brought to the main cellar in Nuits Saint Georges to be matured, in part, in fine grained, lightly toasted oak barrels for a year, in cool vaulted cellars. Classic with traditional coq au vin.
