Domaine Dampt Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume 2017
Chablis Premier Cru AOC

From a high ranked Premier Cru just north of the Grands Crus, this is an exquisite white. It’s from Domaine Dampt, a family estate run by three brothers, who lend a modern touch to Chablis’ fine wines. Expressive stone fruit and intense minerality.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
This fine wine from a very good vintage was made by the multi medal winning winemaking brothers Eric, Emmanuel and Hervé Dampt. Their estate is based in the ancient district of Tonnerre, just outside Chablis itself, but they have vineyards dotted around some of the very best sites. Based on Chablis’ famous Kimmeridgian clay soils, Fourchaume lies directly below the Mitais woods, about a mile from the village. As Hugh Johnson points out, certain Premiers Crus “on the north bank of the River Serein, flanking the Grands Crus to the northwest (La Fourchaume, for example), have the advantage”. This riveting 2017 makes delicious drinking now or will cellar. Decant and serve in large bowled glasses. Excellent with sauced white meats or seafood.
