The Wine
Lisa Perrotti Brown in Wine Advocate described the 2017 vintage as one of “finesse, perfume and aromatic intensity”. That was thanks to a cooler spell in August, which kept alcohol levels lower and lent a freshness to the fruit. However, even with that, this outstanding Margaux Premier Cru managed to produce a wine with remarkable top scores. James Suckling wrote, “This is a very dense Margaux. Impressive depth of fruit and structure. Luscious and muscular at the same time.” He scored it 96-98 points. Wine Advocate gave it a straight up 98 points, writing, "the elegance and finesse on the palate is simply bedazzling." Luckily just 10% was affected by frost. Nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon, with 100% new oak, this is a great wine to cellar.
