The Wine
This prestige Champagne, presented in a gift box, should be reserved for a special occasion. It’s from one of the best known Champagne houses in the world, established in 1743. This 2008 is showing a little maturity, complexity and length and will cellar well for a many years yet. Chef de Cave says each Grand Vintage is an individual expression of the year and this was one of uncompromising freshness, giving the wine the structure to age. It displays a floral bouquet with notes of peach, creamy yet crisp, with a biscuity, white nectarine character. Hugh Johnson writes that Moët’s vintage wines are “always a good representative of the character of each vintage, yet with that supple, creamy style that runs through the whole Moët range”.
