The Wine
This tasty Pinot Grigio comes from an award winning cellar in the village of Etyek, 50km from Budapest, and shows just what fantastic quality and value Hungary offers. That's particularly true in the outstanding 2019 vintage, and winemaker Gábor Laczkó made sure we got our fair share for customers. Hungary is, of course, famous for its regal sweet wine, Tokaj, but has many strings to its bow, thanks in part to a 600 year history of growing Italian grape varieties. Gábor has proven himself an expert, crafting a range of thrilling wines under the Campanula label, named after a local flower. This crisp, minerally Pinot Grigio has classic ripe pear and green apple character. Enjoy as a glass any time or with lighter dishes like fish or risotto.
