The Story Behind the Bottle
Here at Averys, we only put our name to something when its special. And our fine claret is certainly that. So we headed back to Bordeaux to select the new vintage. The 2018 saw a wonderful summer that allowed the Merlot grapes to mature nicely, lending this wine supple ripe fruit, yet still with a firm, classic structure. Entirely hand picked to select only the finest berries, all the fruit come from a small family estate, just a few miles south and across the river from Libourne. It's been handed down from father to son for many generations. Offering aromas of ripe bramble fruit and sweet spice, it has a core of fresh cherry and plum that helps balance the dense yet supple tannins. It makes superb drinking now and for a few years to come.
