The Wine
Champagne may be France’s most famous bubbly, but there are several other regions that produce top-quality fizz. Being less well known, they offer excellent value for money. Crémant de Bourgogne is top of the list and especially worth seeking out. This fine sparkler is from 'Winemaker of the Year, awarded twice for both red and white wines, Alain Serveau. He heads up the team at the renowned Maison Albert Bichot. Just like the finest Champagne, it is made from Chardonnay for its mineral finesse, floral notes and bright fruit, and Pinot Noir, for berry complexity. Using all Mâconnais grapes, traditionally vinified with the secondary fermentation in bottle, this is a crémant of real distinction and finesse. A great celebration tipple.
