Vinho Verde DOC
Loading...

Vinho Verde today is one of Portugal's most exciting whites. In the hands of a great winemaker that is. You may have tried Diogo Sepúlveda wines before, usually from further south. Here he weaves his magic with top Vinho Verde grapes. Citrusy fresh.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Story Behind the Bottle
For a really appetising white, lighter on alcohol (11.5%) reach for a bottle of Vinho Verde. It’s style has evolved greatly since the ’70s, when winemakers would sweeten the wines for added appeal. Today they are super-zingy and fresh, and dry, and we think Diogo Sepúlveda's is one of the brightest and best. The region lies in Portugal's northwestern corner and, close to the Atlantic, is one of its wettest. This only adds to the thirst-quenching freshness of its whites. One of the area's top grapes is Loureiro, some call it the 'Riesling of Portugal'. It brings lemony finesse and minerality, while a little Trajadura adds ripe pear and blossom notes and Avesso, grapefruit, peach and a subtle hint of almond. Chill the wine down and enjoy.
