We’ve been working with Sam Trimboli for over 20 years. He’s a wizard of a winemaker, the man behind many customers’ top favourites. That includes the rich red Black Duck, so we asked him to make a white sibling – this fruity Chardonnay Pinot Grigio.

Many of you will remember Sam Trimboli from his days at Warburn Estate, where, every vintage, he’d pick up literally hundreds of awards. He’s still on a winning streak, but now he’s struck out on his own, and we’re delighted. Sam makes the mighty Black Duck, and this white version is equally fruity and definitely equally irresistible. Sam Trimboli is good mates with many top growers and carefully selected the vineyard for the best Chardonnay grapes, picking them in the early morning, cool fermenting and adding a touch of citrusy Pinot Grigio. This is the sort of wine you should never be short of, with a constant supply chilled in the fridge. Exuberant and youthful with bright melon fruit – serve solo or with a spicy noodle chicken dish.
