Domaine du Clos Frantin is part of the Albert Bichot stable, the wines of which are characterised by their elegance and nuance – think of a ballerina. The wines feel effortless; the very essence of what Burgundy should be about. Not a wine to convert Shiraz drinkers to the joys of Pinot Noir, but certainly one to bring a smile to the face of many an existing Burgundy fan. Seductively fruit-driven and charming with firm tannins, this fine red will benefit from being tucked away, if you can resist.
