Di Cavallo Sangiovese is the essence of Italy, a vibrant, ripe, cherry and redcurrant scented red lifted by an appealing freshness. Ideal with classic Italian home cooking. Rubicone is part of Emilia Romagna, home to Parma ham, Parmesan cheese and Bolognese sauce. It’s the gastronomic heart of Italy and has been a wine growing region since Roman general Julius Caesar’s crossing of Emilia Romagna’s Rubicon River in 49 BC, more than 2,000 years ago. Sangiovese of course is the famous grape of Chianti in neighbouring Tuscany but euro for euro we reckon the quality on offer here from family owned Poderi dal Nespoli is unbeatable. A delicious glass for almost any occasion and a perfect partner for pasta with pesto, chicken or a tasty pizza.
