Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Bourgogne Blanc 2023
Bourgogne AOC

This white has become a bit of a cult favourite. It may be Bourgogne Blanc but the fruit comes from Chassagne- and Puligny-Montrachet, so it punches high. Impressively complex, fresh and long with mouthfilling white pear fruit and great finesse.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
Bachelet brothers Marc and Alexandre set up a 10-hectare organic estate in Burgundy in 2005 and from their first vintage, they've attracted enormous praise. Critic Neal Martin says: “If you have not discovered the Bachelet brothers yet, it’s time to do so.” Their estate includes superb vineyards in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny, plus a handful they have enfermage (under their management), all worked organically. For this dazzling village Burgundy, the brothers take parcels of Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, sometimes Chassagne and also Maranges, and carefully blend them to get a beautifully balanced, pure-fruit white with a tight core of freshness. From a superb, classic vintage, this is a fine wine. Open early and decant, or cellar.
