Weingut Leitz is located in Rüdesheim at the western end of the Rheingau, a region which “established Germany’s reputation for world-class white wines” wrote Hugh Johnson.
The winery building was hit by a bomb in WW2 and had to be rebuilt from scratch by Josef Leitz. Today, it is run by his grandson, Johannes Leitz, and is widely regarded as one of the finest estates in the region.
