For six generations the Allegrini family have worked some of the best terroir in the Veneto, and the name is synonymous with the region’s finest wines. Using fruit from one of the appellation’s top vineyards, this is an amazingly rich, dense Amarone.

The Wine
The Allegrinis have been winemakers since the 16th century and critic Robert Parker regards them today as “one of the strongest pillars" of "centuries-old winemaking traditions”. Yet they have no fear of innovation and their success today can be attributed first to Giovanni Allegrini, and now his son Franco. Giovanni built up his cellar through hard work, a love of the land and instinctive understanding of which grapes would thrive best where. Giovanni died in 1983 yet his legacy lives on with the exceptional skill of his son. Grapes for this rich Amarone come from their superb hilltop estate and were dried for four months, then the juice fermented and the inky wine aged in barriques for 15 months.
