This is one from Rioja – and, no, it’s not a red wine, it’s white, the unsung style of this famous region. What’s more it’s made from the very rare Tempranillo Blanco grape, only discovered 40 years ago. It makes wines with a zesty core of mineral freshness, which you’ll discover in this beautifully balanced, floral-scented wine, now with 4 years’ age. Unoaked, this white is all about fruit, with creamy ripe peach notes, hints of vanilla and butterscotch, and a strong zip of citrus crispness. It’s a satisfying mouthful, ideal with creamy white meat dishes or seafood.
