The Wine
The Sartirano family has been making fine wine in Piedmont for four generations, since 1871. They've gradually built up the estate, adding 27 hectares of Barolo's finest, south-facing vineyards in 1988. In 2002, they purchased the Ghercina property, in Langhe's Novello, building a modern cellar, 70% underground! It's here, in this village, that the Nas-cetta grape was rediscovered. Some growers found bottles with 10 years age, uncorked them and were amazed at how delicious the wine was. They went searching for the vines – its grapes are golden with a rusty spot – and have gradually reintroduced a few hectares. We aren't suggesting you age the wine that long. Enjoy instead all its floral, honeyed notes, zapped through by mineral refreshment.

Great character, with herbal notes, fruit such as pears, lemon and white peach. Really good wine
