Robert Oatley Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Yachtsman, businessman and entrepreneur, Robert Oatley founded the renowned Rosemount Estate in the 1960s. Over the next 20 years it became one of Australia’s premier brands. He sold it in 2005 and started a new venture in 2006, producing wines under his own name – his Signature Series. For these, winemaker Larry Cherubino sources grapes from the finest region for each variety, working closely with each grower. For this Cabernet, Margaret River's Wilyabrup was selected, on Western Australia’s most southwesterly point. Cooled by ocean breezes, the climate here is remarkably similar to Bordeaux, and Cabernet adores it. Aged 15 months in French oak, part new, this is a bold, cassis scented red with silky tannins. Great with char-grilled steak.
