Old Malt Cask Benrinnes 12-year-old Sherry Cask Whisky (70cl) 2004
Finishing a fine single malt like Benrinnes in sherry casks adds distinctive complexity to an already rich array of flavours. Once plentiful, these barrels are now a luxury. But it’s worth the effort – a gorgeous toasty sherry twist to the rich malt.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Spirit
The first Benrinnes distillery was established in 1826, almost a mile southeast of today’s distillery, but it was destroyed three years later by a great flood. In 1835 a new distillery was built higher up the Benrinnes peak above Speyside. Despite Benrinnes’ long history, their first official bottling as a single malt was in 1991. Until then, the majority of the spirit has been used in blends, such as Johnnie Walker and J&B. Their malt whisky is made by an unusual system of partial triple distillation, and single malt whiskies from Benrinnes remain a rare treat. With notes of sherry, toffee and stewed fruits, along with malty richness and length, this delectable 12 year old is ideal fireside sipping with a drop or two of pure spring water.
