The Wine
Quality is assured with Nicolas Thienpont (of Château Pavie Macquin) and Stéphane Derenoncour at the winemaking helm. This superstar team took over in 2002 and turned this superb château around from an underperformer to the super star it is today. The quality of its vineyards have never been in doubt – it can boast some of the finest terroir in all of Saint Emilion, in the Côte Pavie. Even the Romans spotted the potential and planted vineyards there all those centuries back. Yields of the 35 year old vines are strictly limited and every bunch is harvested by hand. 2015 was an outstanding vintage, offering generous ripe fruit and well balanced wines. Murmure 2015 is drinking beautifully now, or will age. Decant an hour before serving.
