The Wine
Welcome to Chile’s beautiful Central Valley. When we first journeyed here the Royal Society called us in to ask about winemaking challenges in the area. Don’t think they expected our answer – there simply aren’t any. You see it’s completely free from pests, cooling breezes blow in off the Pacific, snowmelt water flows down from the Andes and the whole valley basks in year long sunshine. So it’s absolutely perfect for dark, ripe, smooth, juicy Merlot like this delicious red made by Alfonso Undurraga. It’s from a family winery that’s been in the heart of the valley for 70 years. Enjoy it with grilled sausages, homemade beef burgers or just on its own, in a large glass. It's the easy going wine to choose for a barbecue too.
