The Story Behind the Bottle
The southern Rhône is known for reds with richness, warmth and power – and none more so than Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its name dates back to the 1300s, when the papacy moved to nearby Avignon. Les Jardins de la Livrée comes from Domaine Père Caboche, owned by the Boisson family. They were once both winemakers and blacksmiths — hence the estate’s name. A ‘caboche’ is the local word for the nail used to shoe horses. Emilie Boisson used grapes from three top vineyards — Les Serres, Barbe d’Asne and La Font du Pape — where the vines average 50 years old. That age brings wonderfully concentrated fruit, and you’ll taste it in every sip. Beautifully smooth, with intense red fruits and a touch of spice, it’s a dream with roast lamb.
