The Wine
There is so much praise for the legendary Leeuwin Estate. Halliday proclaimed they're "a class act, every facet of its business working with the precision of a Swiss watch. It stands at the very forefront of estate-based, family-owned wineries." Founded by Denis and Tricia Horgan in 1972, they were one of five founding families of Margaret River. Using top estate grapes, all barrel aged for 22 months, this exceptional red wine has elegance, energy and drive. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave this 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon a glowing 96-point score, and said it's "one of the shining lights in the region this year. There are notes of raspberry and nori, moss and petrichor and forest floor." Delicious now, but will certainly improve with age.
