The Wine
If you enjoy a high-quality, mature claret at a sensible price, let us introduce you to Château Ramage La Batisse. This family estate lies only a short stroll from First Growth Châteaux Lafite and Mouton Rothschild. Fortunately, Ramage La Batisse is situated just outside the Pauillac boundary, making its price far more attractive to the average wine lover. In 2003, the property was elevated to Cru Bourgeois and in 2020 to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. Georges Pauli, a winemaker of world renown, is consultant here and has made a superb Le Prestige in the exceptional 2005 vintage. Le Prestige is a special cuvée made from the grapes of the estate’s oldest vines, all aged in fine oak. Only 600 magnums are made each vintage. Ideal drinking now.
