Laithwaites Theale Vineyard Founder's Reserve Blanc de Blancs 2013
English Quality Sparkling Wine
Loading...
Exquisite, long aged fizz, with Champagne beating pedigree. Our 700 Chardonnay vines were planted in 1998 under the supervision of Champagne's Thierry Lesne and the bubbly made by a Trophy winning team. Six years old, it's complex, toasty and long.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
The tiny Theale vineyard hardly compares to the vast vine clad hills and valleys of the Champagne region, but quality wise it has certainly proved itself. The climate is quite similar, and we had another secret weapon in the form of a man dubbed “King of Fizz” by The Independent. The late Mike Roberts enjoyed a stellar reputation and his family now continue his great work at their Trophy winning Ridgeview Estate in Sussex. Its wines have regularly been served to visiting dignitaries at Buckingham Palace. No surprise then that they managed to convert our top quality, hand tended grapes into something so magnificent. The first vintage won Gold and a place in the world’s Top 10 bubblies. The 2013 is another fine vintage, that is ageing well.
