La Colombette - Organic Souvignier Muscaris 2019

Eyebrows were raised when our buyer Mark told us he’d found a lovely Souvignier Muscaris. Not too many of us knew these grapes. But we loved the wine. A gorgeous burst of ripe, fleshy fruit and a zesty finish. Then, Mark, who’s based in the sunny Languedoc region, told us about the pioneering family estate where it’s made. It’s run by father and son Vincent and François Pugibet and farmed organically. Good for the environment – and great for the wine too. In fact, Souvignier and Muscaris are both naturally resistant to problems like mildew, so excellent for organic production. No need to use anything artificial to keep the fruit healthy. Just plenty of sunshine and tender care. The result is this characterful white with stacks of flavour.
