The Spirit
The Kyrö Distillery Company started as a dream among friends. While drinking whisky in a Finnish sauna, they found themselves wondering why nobody was making rye whisky in Finland. So, they decided to give it a go themselves. While their first batch of whisky was resting in barrels, they thought why not create an additional product? But what? Gin, of course. Their first batch was so good, it sold out in two days. Kyrö Dark Gin is their latest release. It is made from 100% rye as the base and blends with 17 botanicals and spices, steeped with orange peel and aged in new American white oak casks. Inspired by the unpredictable northern weather, Kyrö call it “Barrel-aged gin for when the weather sucks”! Enjoy with ginger ale or neat over ice.
