The Wine
Jim Barry was Halliday Australian Winery of the Year 2020. Just one of a huge line up of prizes the cellar has won. The original Jim Barry passed his oenology degree in 1947, just the 17th person to do so at the famous Roseworthy College. He worked in the region, and bought his first vineyard in 1959. It was his drive and community spirit that made Clare Valley a premium wine region and Riesling and Shiraz its finest grapes. Jim Barry is today run by the 2nd and 3rd generations. They have some of the finest plots in the Valley, including the 99-point Armagh vineyard. This red is the special project of Sam and Tom Barry, although their dad, Peter, has the final veto! Florita vineyard Shiraz, aged in large oak casks, it's complex and long.
